Before gluing the top onto the ribs, i.e. before closing the soundbox, the mold is taken out of the ribs. Then linings are glued onto the top of the ribs to increase the gluing surface for the top. Remaining glue stains are removed, the bend is strengthened with a strip of cloth, and the label is placed on the soundpost plate. After all this, the soundbox is ready for closing.
